Neck Tightness, Shoulder Tension & Headaches
Move Better. Recover Better.
Neck tightness, stiff shoulders and headaches can make everyday life uncomfortable. Long hours at a computer, prolonged phone use, stressful days, repetitive activities and demanding sports can all contribute to muscular tension around the neck and shoulders.
At Golden Hands Pilates, sports massage is available for people who want to address muscular tightness, relax overworked areas and support more comfortable movement. Our therapists, Ms. Sang and Ms. Kieu, each have approximately 15 years of experience in the sports massage field.
Experienced Therapists Who Understand Muscular Tension
When the neck and shoulders feel tight, even simple activities such as turning your head, working at a desk, driving or exercising can become less comfortable. An appropriate massage session can focus on the muscles around the neck, shoulders and upper back, according to your needs and comfort.
Ms. Sang
An experienced sports massage therapist who works with clients experiencing neck tightness, shoulder stiffness and muscular discomfort.
Ms. Kieu
An experienced sports massage therapist who helps clients address muscular tension around the neck, shoulders and upper back through an individually adjusted hands-on approach.
Both therapists have substantial practical experience in sports massage. The pressure, techniques and areas addressed during a session should be adjusted to the client's comfort, preferences and presenting concerns.
How Can Sports Massage Help?
Depending on the cause of the discomfort, massage may help reduce muscular tension, encourage relaxation and temporarily improve the feeling of mobility in tight areas.
Neck tightness and headaches can have different causes, however, and massage is not a guaranteed treatment for headaches or an alternative to medical assessment when one is needed.
Neck and Shoulder Tension in Everyday Life
Modern routines often involve holding the head in one position for long periods, looking down at a phone, sitting at a desk or repeating the same movements throughout the day. Sports such as pickleball, tennis, golf and weight training may also place repeated demands on the shoulders and upper body.
Alongside an appropriate massage session, some people benefit from taking regular movement breaks, adjusting their workstation, changing positions throughout the day and performing comfortable, controlled mobility exercises.
What to Expect at Golden Hands Pilates
Your comfort matters. Tell your therapist where you feel tension, when it started and whether any movement or pressure makes it worse. The session can then be adapted to your feedback.
Massage should not be excessively painful. Strong pressure is not necessarily better, particularly around the neck. Avoid forceful neck manipulation and let your therapist know immediately if you experience pain, dizziness, nausea, tingling or other unusual symptoms.
For Active People and Everyday Life
Whether your routine involves sport, exercise or long working hours, paying attention to muscular comfort can be part of a balanced self-care routine.
